Clockwise from top left: Jon, is that a toasted sandwich and a beer, mate?! Luka with Oma and Opa at the old favourite "La Festiva" Joel having leftovers after breaking his hand and getting home from the medical centre at 10pm Mikus with lion mask not eating his dinner
But what was on the sandwich? Where is old 'La Festiva'? How did the hand get broken? And what is on the Riga plates? I have more questions than answers!!
Ok, ok! "La Festiva" is a classic pasta restaraunt frequented by the Smedes when celebrating something, it's in "The Nong" (now Fifee, don't ask me where "the Nong" is - if you don't know, you have no business in knowing). It serves both nuggets and chips (for Luka, left) and oysters (for Maria, right). Our humble dinner table always consists of the same old, same old: meat and carbohydrates and vegetables. In this case I think its chicken (marinated, stir fried) and rice. With a bowl of stir fried vegies, that I end up eating because the boys (especially the one with the lion mask) mostly avoid them. And Joel's hand.... a football inury... ouch... you can read more about it on Mara's blog, www.mara-writes.blogspot.com
Ah, the story emerges. [And yes I do know the Nong!] Thankyou - is it wrong to want to 'interpret' the photos for the stories behind them when it is meant to be merely the 4 photos per week to tell the story?? Well, I think it all makes better sense now. More meaningful access to these 4 worlds....
Of course it's not wrong to want to know. I guess sometimes the story is obvious by looking at the pic (like some of the pics in "the locals", last week). To be honest I haven't been sure that others reading this blog want to know that detail... so thanks for your interest! And you constructive criticism :) Good thing I know you... you're a troublemaker ;)
This is about 4 brothers and their families living in different continents. Each week, each of us take a photo to reflect a common theme, and then we post them here. These help us keep in touch, and see aspects of each other's lives. We hope you enjoy our 4 windows...

But what were you having Mook? Looked nice! Of course Mikus isn't eating it. :) Hee hee.

This was actually down at the local backpacker hangout. A very poor excuse for a cheeseburger and cheap beer. Anyone's wish for a Friday night out.
