Clockwise from top left: - Jon in his Brand new Athletics Carnival team t-shirt - Brand New:still in original box. Warning, package may self combust if not opened by Saturday. - Mara wears her BRAND NEW slippers, while sitting on her BRAND NEW big ball (for those aching pregnant hips!), with Joel beside her holding his BRAND NEW skateboard. Both are enjoying the feel of the BRAND NEW carpet. Yes, we just got back from Joburg where we, as always, spent a lot of money. :) - The new rafters on our renovator's delight. Such a relief to see a roof almost completed after a fair amount of stress and heartache. The wreath was placed as a part of the "rafter party" we had with the builders today, a Latvian traditional celebration.
Thanks, Mara! Funnily enough, I'm just going to get Jamin to blow up my excercise ball today for my aching hips - either I'm very slow off the mark or very lucky to have made it this far and not had the preggie hips!
Wow! An abundance of pregnancy! Congratulations all round, though I haven't met you and know only Mook & Jem. :-)
And hooray for the renovator's delight! It shows how Anglo-Irish-Aussie I am that I saw the words "rafter party" and thought it was bit of a booze-up 'rafter' the succesful completion of a bit of the roof...!
Madeleine, I translated the Latvian "spares svetki" as "rafter party" with the full knowledge that you (and others) would think that way! ;) I've heard that certain communities in the USA also celebrate the completion of the roof structure (was it the Amish?), though I'm not sure of the right terminology for this in English...
This is about 4 brothers and their families living in different continents. Each week, each of us take a photo to reflect a common theme, and then we post them here. These help us keep in touch, and see aspects of each other's lives. We hope you enjoy our 4 windows...

Wow! Julie I know you're so sick of it- but you look FABULOUS for 40 (41?) weeks!
Yay for new rafters! :)
